There is nothing quite like escaping to a remote location to renew your spiritual health. And there are so many great venues out there that aid in this renewal. Unfortunately, there is also a plethora of people that are likewise in need of the same. Which means, you may not have exclusive access to your venue. What a bummer! But just because there are strangers staying at the same place, doesn’t mean you can’t accomplish everything this retreat promises. Remember, they are here for the same reason you are.

Depending on the size and spread of the venue you may never notice the other groups anyway. With a little organization on the part of the planner, everything can move smoothly. Unless you have a group of 500 trying to utilize every activity available plus 10 meeting spaces at the same time, there should not be any trouble. You’ve got all kinds of time and options for activities during your retreat. Yes, a do-what-you-want-whenever-you-want retreat is nice, but as it turns out, having an agenda for guests actually provides more benefit. That way they aren’t wandering and wondering what to do. The guidance keeps everyone on track with the goals of the event. And keeps the whole venue’s schedule (from staff to guests) moving seamlessly.

The goal of any Christian retreat center is to help bring guests closer to God. The more the merrier. So, I hope you do not get discouraged when you see that other groups will also be staying at your venue during your retreat. You may just miss out on the experience of a lifetime if that deters you from going. Remember that the staff is used to hosting large numbers, and is probably well equipped to make sure each individual guest has everything they need to get the most out of the experience.
