During this time of year it's important to reflect on the goodness of God and His love, and it's very easy to do this during the Easter holiday. However after the day has gone, after the children have endulged in chocolate bunnies, and everyone is back to 'normal life', do we just forget then about this very special season?
Many times in life we just need to stop and realize this fact. We need less of ourselves and more of the "Cross"! Today and for the whole season may we be reminded of 3 simple facts about the Cross as we reflect:
1) Jesus was crucified on the cross for us and offered forgiveness of sin.
In I John 1:9 it states "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Forgiveness is so needed not only in our own lives. Also, forgiveness is needed towards others in this journey called life.
2) Grace was given to us even though we don't deserve it.
In Ephesians 2:8 it tells us "For grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of ourselves: it is the gift of God." May grace reign in our lives and in our relationships with others. Grace is so often forgot about and sometimes hard for some to practice.
3) We can trust the Lord with our lives.
In John 10:10 it states " The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I have come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."
We can trust the Lord for an abundant life as we walk with Him. Allow Godly trust to be vibrant in your life and you will see the rewards.
Therefore, as you reflect this year on the subject of the Cross.
Please don't forget about God's forgiveness, grace and trust!
