Don’t Celebrate Mom on Mother’s Day

The second Sunday of May means a big bump in the flower industry, with its only competition being Valentine’s Day.  It usually also means breakfast in bed and a handmade craft from the kids.  It is a day to show Mom just how much you love her.  But is that the only day?  Being a mother is a 24/7 job, that can often get taken advantage of by those who love her most.  Don’t save only one day for Mom.  Celebrate her every day, as the Bible commands.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, because this is right. Honor your father and mother which is the first commandment with a promise – that it may go well with you and that you may have a long life. -Ephesians 6:1-3

Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. -Proverbs 31: 28-30
